We get a lot of emails regarding Dedicated Servers for like what kind of hardware you need for your Dedicated Server? Are there emulators for ? Should i use AMD or Intel processor for my private server? In this guide i will try to clear out what kind of hardware you need for and your private server.
How do you know what kind of hardware you need for your server? Well here we will list some tips for your server project. First you must choose which processor you need and there are two major processor companies AMD and INTEL. When hosting a server we recommend you to buy a powerful Core 2 Duo, Intel Xeon, Intel Itanium, Amd Opteron, Amd FX or Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor with at least 1 GB ram for maximum stability (2GB is recommended). If you are running a server emulator find out if it uses a lot of files on your hard drive, if it does make sure you buy two hard drives one for just your operating system and one for your server emulator program and it is very recommended that you buy SATA2 hard drive or SCSI with low access time. Don’t have enough money to buy your own server? There is a cheaper way and that is to rent your server instead.
If you plan to buy hardware for your server it might be enough with a single core processor but i strongly recommend that you buy a processor with at least 2 cores since the price is almost the same for single core as for dual core. make sure you buy a processor like Intel Core 2, Duo AMD X2, Intel Xeon Dual Core Series or a Intel Quad core processor.
